'On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minutes silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation'.
This Remembrance Day come and listen to Gippsland’s involvement in the forgotten war. Australia sent troops and nurses to assist the British Empire in the Second Boer War. This conflict took just over 600 Australian lives from 1899-1902. Over 400 Gippslanders answered the call and four men from Sale died in the conflict.
